Beachside High School

Opened in 2022, Beachside quickly developed a distinct identity around AICE, career academies, athletics and performing arts — with one of the county’s most unmistakably Florida mascots.

St. Johns County Career Academies are sequences of elective courses built around a career theme, often with project-based learning, industry credentials and business/community connections. Programs of Interest may require an application and out-of-zone transportation is not generally provided.

Local lore

The light version

The Barracuda may be the most Florida high-school mascot in the county. The school is also young enough that traditions are still being invented — including a homecoming golf-cart parade.
